I designed the patterns for the free Constellation Stitch Kit in the latest Mollie Makes, issue,53. Pretty incredible kit (patterns, hoop, fabric, thread, needle) as a bonus to a great magazine. The patterns are inspired by my favorite topic, the stars. So of course I had to include a Carl Sagan quote, the little & big dipper and a graphic, sashiko star. I'm really happy to see how the kit, and the whole issue turned out. So many fun projects!  I want to make that knot pillow below.

Mollie Makes Outtakes

In the last issue of Mollie Makes #37 I contributed a constellation banner project. When I got the contributors copy I was so happy to see that they also included and feature story about me too! The headline, "Small yet mighty" makes me so happy. The issue is full of creative projects, and features my friend Jessica Pigza's new book Bibliocraft, and it even comes with a full kit(!) to make a hot pink argyle mug cozy.

I thought it would nice to share some of the images that didn't make it into the the magazine. I always try to sneak in a picture of my cats. It's a not so secret goal to make them internet famous. That's Bullet up there with a kitty fu manchu.

This is my favorite image from the bunch. I love this little collection of art and books from our living room.

Stitched Gifts in Country Living Magazine!

I've been waiting for a good moment to crack open my County Living Magazine. With a tall cold glass of water and a tiny kitty (more on her soon!) by my side I sat down with it, flipping pages anxiously. It's such a great feeling to see a project (Embroidered Photo Corners) from Stitched Gifts featured in print. Gorgeously photographed and I love being able to share a fun and easy diy project with so many people.

And I was surprised to see the project upfront & center in the contents page, too. Funny that my love for vintage images of animals, this one being a lady holding a Boston Terrier, would finds it's way into a magazine...

It's a wonderful feeling to wake up to a feature of my Zodiac Kits one of my favoritest blogs,  Design Sponge!  Thanks so much for this pick-me-up Grace!

Grace mentions that she's a bit of an astrology cynic, but that her friend Amy has a pension for astrological musings, which are rubbing off.  I'm somewhere in between. I really like reading my horoscope and love looking at the stars, but I'm more into the mythology rather than astrology.  I think it's just fun to talk about signs and who you're supposed to get along with more, or stay away from, and to guess peoples signs. Plus the constellations are just beautiful....

if you just happened to be at barnes and noble in union square when i first saw this- i hoped you liked my dance....recent features in BUST and DIY magazine have got me silly happy and pumped for the holidays. these are some picks by Lisa Butterworth, BUST's associate editor. there's a little love for for me, for you up there too!

i've limited my custom embroidery offerings, to ensure that the orders i do have get to their holiday destinations on time. the last day i'm offering custom hearts will be monday the 23 and i'm just about to list a few. so get'em while you can.....

i'm ecstatic/really sleepy. i spent the whole day and night updating my website to prepare. i had no clue what an overwhelming response I'd receive and am so, so very grateful! thank you Daily Candy, all those who sent their kind words and requests, and those of you supported MR today!

little thing...

little thing magazine says, "we collect beautiful things". i'm all kinds of pumped to be featured in a 3 page spread with lots images and an interview. it's all in chinese though, so if you'd like to read the interview let me know and i'll post the text too.

its so cute because they only refer to me as jessica and since all the text but names are in chinese you see my cat "bug" mentioned, like in the first sentence, and later the name of my parent's dog, Buddy Lee jumps out from all the chinese characters.

lots of great, beautifully printed images throughout the magazine....

i love that memory is my main tagline! memory is one of the main focuses of my work...
they also feature helle jorgensen or gooseflesh, whose work i have been in awe of for awhile....
