So excited that this year I took some time to walk, more like run, around Renegade Brooklyn and support some fellow makers. It's so big I still missed a bunch of people I really wanted to see. Most of the time I buy gifts for others, but this year I really treated myself. The jewelry from Teresa of Stone & Honey was my favorite purchase. Isn't it nice to meet the person who hand made the thing you've been wanting for awhile?!

Jeremy got the pouches, pottery and baseball bat. He's a big into ceramics- you should see his collection! (hummm, future blog post!) And the bat really surprised me- we don't play, but he was so impressed by the maker, it's quality, and it reminded him of the early days of baseball. It's a nostalgic thing, but he swears he'll use it. We'll see...

Did you get anything from Renegade?!!

pssst... I've got a really big announcement I'll be making next Monday, just sayin. So check in then, ok?! ok!

Renegade Brooklyn 2012

Whew, what a crazy weekend! Renegade is always a whirl wind- the prep, the haul, long days on your feet, and the heat was intense this year. I can't believe this was my fourth year participating, and this year was better than ever for no other reason than I just let it be. No crazy expectations, I just enjoyed the process - styling the booth display, making lots of new products, and my very favorite - chatting with people who stopped by. Thank you to everyone who visited us!!

It also doesn't hurt to have a wonderful booth mate, Virginia & great neighbors (Fisk & Fern / Deer Badger). Virginia always inspires me to step up my booth display with her creative props and styling.  I took it as a great compliment when a few people weren't sure if we were separate shops. We make it fun by goofin it up...

And then, that was that & we packed up and went home to the messiest little apartment (almost all my display is actually part of my home decor) but not before taking in the beautiful East River Park view....

This year I took a whole hour to walk around and brought back a bunch of handmade, beautiful goods. Can't wait to share with you soon.

Did you brave the heat & come out to Renegade Brooklyn? What did you get? Thanks again to all who came out, to the organizers, and anyone who stopped by and supported my work!!

You're Invited!

Come visit me at Renegade Brooklyn this weekend, June 23rd & 24th!

It's in a new location at East River State Park (aka the Williamsburg Waterfront) with an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline! (More info on the location here.) I'll be sharing a booth with Virginia, and can't wait to see what she brings. I've been working like a mad woman to get everything prepped and working on a bunch of new things too. I've had some help in the studio lately, which was amazing.

Cross your fingers I have time to get everything done & please come by and see me this weekend!

WIP for Renegade BrooklynLaila busted out a bunch of kits. I always love her outfits- double polka dots!

Renegade Brooklyn

the best part about Renegade was my boothmate, Virginia!...

... we be goofy! Virginia made our booth awesome, kept the energy positive and is such a pro. She basically has a craft store in her purse. Anything I needed, she had! Even though Saturday was wet & rainy we had a steady stream of lovely, friendly people stopping by.

I was really happy to be around so many friends. I was in a row of NewNew teammates and right next to Peg & Awl, who had an amazing booth. I got to meet Chrisi of The Oak Leaves, Ashley of Secret Holiday, Leanne of Vaute Couture and lots and lots of friendly supporters.

Thanks to everyone who visited the fair, stopped by our booth and said hello!!

We had rain all day, but Virgina was so smart and brought lots of thick plastic. I was sad not to be able to to my Letter Service...

Kimm's pb&j lunch was too cute.

renegade brooklyn recap

whew, what a weekend renegade brooklyn was.  i met lots of people, made lots of mail, got my booth mate's  music, a one time thing, permanently stuck in my head, and had a generally great time despite even the crazy rain and wind on sunday.  we had a tornado warning that shut down lots of booths early.

my only complaint is i didn't have time to see everything properly and missed lots of people and booths i would have loved to have seen.

really happy to have gotten a chance to meet bloodmilk,  enhabiten with Lambert, polly danger (who is from the same town as me in ca. small world.), sweetie pie press, molly of charlotte's fancy, and melissa

a big hug to everyone who stepped up, sat down, and typed out a little letter with me! another big kiss to everyone who stopped by. you all made my weekend awesome!!
