twerking it...

today and last night i've done one thing, work on my pieces for Gallery Hanahou's embroidery show, Forget Me Not. The show is an appropriately timed nod to Valentine's Day. I've got three pieces to finish and very little time. so all day i've been stitching up hearts and bees and wreaths of green...

...i'm so behind on my own work because i've been making these Custom Heart Samplers. This is my first batch and as soon as I finish the pieces for the show I'll work on the second batch. it's been great talking to people for these orders and putting an even more personal touch into my interactions with people on etsy. thats what its all about to me right- i'm just this girl in my bedroom in brooklyn making things that i love and wanting to share that with others. i totally forgot to take a picture of them all done-errr! but i loved seeing all the packages stacked and ready for shipping. what a great feeling...

I've decided to keep this listing up in my shop as a regular item, but at the moment I can't take any more custom orders. damn you day job!

CNN!

I'm honored and so excited to be featured in a CNN article, by Jen Haley, called Turn Your Skills or Your Stuff Into Extra Cash. Etsy and I are all over it and I'm so glad to share my love for etsy with the world. Many thanks to Jen for the feature! Please check it out!

50th sale...

Thanks bricks! It was the 13th Book and Letter Hybrid on the 13th of January and the buyer thought that it would bring her luck. I hope she like the little something I added....

Finding Time

its been a while...i'm working crazy hard trying to get my life in order right now to get my etsy store up. i finally settled on a name, thanks to the help of trusted friends, which is a big deal for an indecisive person like me. its miniature rhino, MR. i love that the initials make the perfect monogram.

+so while my roommates are out of town and its just me and the cats
i went on an organizational/design my workspace (i.e my bedroom)
binge. i felt like i absolutely could not begin my work until my space was set up.

+a not so organized work corner with many things to do.

+a bunch of the little things i've been working on.
1) train time company in the form a little red cross
2) book parts waiting to be sewn
3) the little paws of Cedar clawing another embroidery piece
4) new book cloth and thread!!

this makes me feel like i'm making mad progress but it soooooo slow going. having a full time job really kicks my ass. i'm always tired and feel like i have no time to do the things i really want to. my energy is zapped by the end of the day, but i can't wait to begin. theres still so much to do...
