I know this event was awhile back, but I had to share some images of my day as the featured artist at the Etsy Holiday Shop. From 10 am to 10 pm that day I furiously stitched the largest embroidery piece I've ever made, a 4 x 6' canvas, inspired by the intricate and delicate crocheted doilies made by my grandma Helen (left).
For the ten days the shop was open there was a different artist working in the storefront window creating a live portrait of a person that has inspired them. I was honored to be one of the ten people chosen and so glad to honor the memory of my inspiring, creative grandmother, who passed away this January of pancreatic cancer.
Wish I had gotten a better picture of the finished image, but it was such a crazy day. I'll be posting about my workshop at the Etsy Holiday Shop later today...
Hope you're having a wonderful holiday so far!
