woke up to this article in my inbox today- thank you becky! perfect way to start the day - dreaming of my own cabin in the woods.
this cabin was an old hunting camp completely redone by one lady, Mrs. Foster, who decorated almost everything with vintage pieces. from the window and doors to the porch wood and french door cupboards almost everything within the space is repurposed.
oh, and how perfect is this? to get to the cabin you must cross a little stream....

Urban Taxidermist
Meet Ms. Melissa Dixson, a taxidermist living in Williamsburg. I saw this feature of her on The New York Times today in their ongoing series One in 8 Million, about all the unique individuals living in NY. The series features a slide show of images narrated by the individual. I really enjoy hearing the person's own voice and seeing into their lives. Really interesting and the photographs by Todd Heisler are beautiful. Taxidermy! Sound & Images! Check it out here...

The Yes Men swapped over a million real NY Times covers with their own seamless reproductions of the paper with articles like Court Indicts Bush On High Treason Charge, Nation Sets its Sites on Building a Sane Economy, and National Health Insurance Act Passes. There's even a matching spoof of the "NY Times" website. I'm so impressed with this project's scope, grassroots organization and message—it's funny and ironic and in perfect timing with Obama's presidency. In place of the Time's headline "all the news thats fit to print" they write "all the news we hope to print". if only it were true...
