On my recent trip to San Francisco I got a chance to visit the Chronicle Book offices. I got to meet the people I've been working with so closely on my book. It's so strange to think that for over a year I worked with my editor and never met her! It was great to meet her & to get a little tour of this beautiful, creative work space. My DSLR pooped out on my on this trip, so my trusty iphone took all these photos. As I was lead around the offices I was snapping so many pics...
The store that accompanies that office is beautiful. Love their cement floors and distressed blue walls. It's so funny to see all the little iconic Chronicle glasses logos together.
All the common spaces are designed so well and almost every wall has something fun going on, like the tester wall for Juila Rothman's decals. The store that accompanies that office is beautiful. This room was my favorite - every crafty tool you might need is here. I also really, really want that work table! It was interesting to learn that every book has a blank mock up, which is made in this room, so that the full book can be held and examined beforehand. You can see a bunch of blank book dummies on the bottom right. My book is somewhere in the bunch.
It was so nice to see my book proudly on display at my editor's desk with some of the other books she's been working on.
Look at all those manuscripts waiting to be edited! Doesn't this look like such a fun place to work!?
